Syllabus

Each subject will have an associated deliverable resulting from the practical component. For each practical activity, students will have a specialized tutor for each subject who will provide support both online and in person (during seminars). The role of the mentor or tutor will be to provide technical and practical guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables.

SUBJECTS

UX FOUNDATIONS (5 ECTS) 

The basis of human-centered design

Explore the evolution of UX design and how it has transformed the way people interact with digital products. You will learn to apply key concepts such as user-centered design (UCD) and understand how user psychology is essential to creating meaningful experiences. This subject will give you the theoretical foundation to build solutions that truly connect with people.

AGILE UX (5 ECTS) 

Bring your ideas to life

Discover how to integrate agile methodologies into UX project development, working collaboratively, iteratively, and with a results-oriented focus. You will learn the different roles involved in agile methodologies, how to adapt processes and strategies to meet tight deadlines, manage changes, and deliver products that effectively meet client needs. In addition, this subject is taught transversally throughout the master's, with ongoing tutoring to support the application of these methodologies in each subject, ensuring a deep and practical understanding of their implementation in real-world projects.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COMMERCIAL STRATEGY (5 ECTS) 

Successfully lead UX projects

Become a strategic leader by learning to plan and manage design projects from start to finish. This subject will teach you how to sell a usability, accessibility, or user experience project, handle budget control, coordinate teams, and communicate the value of your proposals commercially. Through practical exercises and a dedicated MasterClass on commercial proposals, you will acquire key market-ready skills.

USABILITY PRINCIPLES (5 ECTS) 

Designs that connect with people

Learn to identify and solve usability issues using heuristic principles, expert analysis, and automated tools. This subject combines theory and practice to help you evaluate and create intuitive, efficient, and highly functional digital products. You will also work on benchmarking to compare and improve your products against industry best practices.

INCLUSIVE AND ETHICAL DESIGN (5 ECTS)

Design for everyone

Create digital experiences that are accessible to all, complying with international accessibility standards and applying clear and inclusive language. This subject also addresses ethical dilemmas in design and how to ensure your proposals are sustainable and responsible. You will learn about the standards, regulations, and legislation regarding accessibility to ensure your digital products comply with current norms. Additionally, we will have a MasterClass focused on assistive devices to raise awareness and provide the necessary knowledge for barrier-free design.

UCD - DESIGN THINKING AND RESEARCH METHODS (5 ECTS)

Research, define, and ideate

Learn to identify real problems and create innovative solutions using the Design Thinking approach. This subject will train you in user research, Customer Journey development, and the application of practical methods to define products or services while enhancing creativity and collaboration. Through practical exercises on a real project, you will apply all the knowledge gained. A MasterClass on digital humans will allow you to stay at the forefront of design and understand how AI helps us empathize with and understand our target audience.

UCD – PRODUCT CONCEPTUALIZATION (5 ECTS)

Bring your ideas to life

Transform ideas into functional and appealing products by mastering information architecture and interaction design. This course focuses on using advanced tools, including those powered by AI, to conceptualize and design innovative solutions. Through a Figma workshop and two masterclasses on mobile app design and advanced digital experience design (including conversational interfaces and virtual environments), you will develop strong technical skills to elevate UX in any kind of digital experience. At this stage of the master’s program, you will bring your real project to life, applying the knowledge and tools you’ve learned to create an effective and engaging solution that meets the real needs of our client and their users.

UCD - USER VALIDATION (5 ECTS) 

Let your designs speak for themselves

Master validation methodologies, specifically the process of testing with real users—from test planning and execution to results analysis. This course ensures that your products are not only creative but also effective and aligned with user expectations.

VISUAL DESIGN AND HIGH-FIDELITY PROTOTYPING (5 ECTS) 

Your creativity at its peak

Refine your visual design skills by creating interfaces that balance aesthetics with functionality. Dive into fundamental concepts like design principles, style guides, design systems, moodboards, and interactive prototypes, all aimed at capturing and holding users’ attention. Additionally, this course covers essential topics like sustainable design, microinteractions, and data visualization.

FINAL MASTER'S PROJECT (15 ECTS) 

Project closure

A comprehensive module designed to guide you through the preparation, structuring, and development of your Master's Final Project, which you will have carried out during the master's. Learn to propose a professional project that integrates all the knowledge acquired throughout the course. It includes personalized tutoring and a MasterClass dedicated to public presentation, where you will learn techniques to communicate your ideas effectively and professionally.
